Dave started Groe Electric in 1978.
He had worked at Winnebago as an electrician and decided it was time to give working on his own a try. He worked from his own truck, did billing from the kitchen table and housed all the parts in the barn. There are stories of the family dog opening up and maybe destroying a few parts boxes.
Steve joined the business full time right out of high school in 1992.
He had been working alongside his dad for as long as he can remember, starting out as the gopher, like many kids did, and proceeding to develop the skills needed to be the owner.
Melissa soon took over the office activities when she married Steve in 1996.
The office in town was built in 1997, saving all future parts boxes from the curious dogs. Luke joined Groe Electric in 1998, when Luke and Lexi were born. It didn’t take him long to learn that operating the equipment was his favorite part. We added Kate and Megan in 2001. The future looks bright when Luke joined us full time in 2022.
